Who Makes Your Day?












Program will teach best ways to cope with grief




For the Herald

The L.E.Phillips-Libertas Treatment Center, Chippewa Falls, will present a free community education program, “Grief and Loss 101: What We Need to Know About Coping” from 3 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13 at the Treatment Center.

The program will be especially informational for healthcare professionals, counselors and therapists, social workers, clergy, mental health counselors and the general public. There is no fee to attend and certification hours may be applied for. Pre-registration is not required.

The presenter will be Kriss Kevorkian, MSW, PhD, Assistant Professor at UW-Eau Claire’s Department of Social Work.

Kevorkian will discuss healthy and unhealthy ways of coping with grief and loss and how to develop and nurture the healthy ways of coping.

The L.E. Phillips-Libertas Treatment Center of St. Joseph’s Hospital provides on-going education and support programs as a community service to the public and professionals. The Treatment Center provides outpatient mental health testing evaluation and consultation as well as treatment for alcohol and drug abuse.
