Cadott lawyer Isaacson announces he's running for judge

Attorney James Isaacson of Cadott is touting his experience as an attorney and court commissioner as well as his abilities as a mediatior in his run for Chippewa County judge.
Isaacson, 55, of Cadott, became the first candidate to formally announce his intention to run for the Circuit Court Branch 2 position being vacated by retiring Judge Thomas Sazama.
“Chippewa County residents want their judges to be experienced in court, fair-minded and familiar with a wide range of legal topics,” Isaacson said.
“During my 30 years of private practice, I have represented hundreds of individuals and businesses in court. For the past 12 years, I have served as a Chippewa County Court Commissioner and have decided hundreds of small claims cases. Many judges and attorneys have selected me to act as a mediator to help resolve a variety of civil or non-criminal cases.”
Isaacson has practiced in Chippewa County from his Cadott office since 1978, and has represented clients and appeared in court in all of the surrounding counties. He handles cases involving families, businesses, real estate, guardianship, estates and criminal matters.
In addition to running a small business, Isaacson and his wife Linda operate a small beef farm in rural Cadott. They have four adult children.
Isaacson was selected by the State Supreme Court’s Office of Lawyer Regulation to chair the regional committee that investigates complaints against attorneys, and serves on the Board of Directors of the State Bar of Wisconsin’s Family Law Section.
An active outdoorsman, he is a member and has been a supporting sponsor of numerous conservation groups including the Ruffed Grouse Society, Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited and Trout Unlimited.
He and his family have volunteered with the Chippewa Valley Special Olympics.
The primary date is Feb. 19, 2009.
