Chippewa Health Improvement Partnership (CHIP), a community coalition lead by St. Joseph’s Hospital, has been awarded the Community Service Award for efforts to promote community environments which support positive youth development.
The 14th Annual Celebration event "A Harvest of Caring”"held October 27th, at Lake Wissota Golf Club, is hosted by Pathways (formerly Council on Alcohol & Other Drug Abuse). Rhonda Brown, Coordinator of CHIP, accepted the award.
The annual award honors a community business or organization which has contributed significantly to the cause of controlling, reducing and preventing alcohol or other drug abuse problems and in promoting public and professional understanding of alcoholism and other drug problems.
Over the past several years, the Youth Issues Committee of the Chippewa Health Improve-ment Partnership (formerly known as Chippewa Falls 2000-Achieving a Healthier Community) has developed and implemented a number of strategies which directly address the prevention and early intervention of current critical issues identified by Pathways.
