More than three dozen area residents were recognized for their commitment to community and volunteerism at a special event in their honor at the Chippewa Manor Retirement Center on Oct. 30.
Dinner preceded a program that included a “Welcome” and “Thank You” by Chippewa Manor Administrator Karen Robinson and Resident Council President Bud Meier. Each volunteer was introduced and recognized for their service. Entertainment was provided by the “Staff Notes,” a group of Chippewa Manor employees singing fun songs.
Volunteers serve as an important part of life and each fall Chippewa Manor takes time to recognize those individuals who help enrich the lives of others by sharing their time and talents with those on its campus. Among the activities volunteers assist with at Chippewa Manor include helping with Chapel services, bingo and other games, coordinating or helping with cooking and sewing projects, assisting residents to and from activities and providing entertainment and transportation for special events.
Chippewa Falls residents recognized included Diane Altman, Glenna Bowe, Ada Brain, Marcella Cairns, Gale and Mary Ann Engel, Ardis and Ed Proue, Martha Rooney, Fred and Marge Roycraft, Dorothy Schneider, Ellen Smith, Bessie Stanek, Mathilda Forster, Marge Gaier, JoAnne Gardner, Marjorie Hakes, Sister Yvonne Hiess, Eleanore Stuttgen, Rosina Zimmerman, Charlotte Vodak, Erna Welke, Corrina Willkom, Heidi Hoekstra, Donna Jones, Tom Lambert, Roger Lindoo, Donna Lyberg, Sammi Mayer, Lois Hopkins and Carly Ruff.
