EAU CLAIRE — Violet B. Olson, 86, of Care Partners, 2306 Frank St., Eau Claire, died, Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, at Care Partners under the care of Northwest Wisconsin Homecare.
She was born Nov. 13, 1921, in Chippewa Falls, to Ruby (Redmond) and Elmer White. She was raised in Chippewa Falls and graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1939.
Violet married Vernon Olson on March 10, 1941, in Decorah, Iowa. They resided in the town of Seymour. She was employed at AAA in Eau Claire for several years.
She was a Past Grand Matron of Order of Eastern Star in Eau Claire.
She is survived by: a son Richard “Rick” (Margaret Powers) Olson of Eau Claire; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband Vernon in 1967; two sons, Larry and James Olson; two sisters, Hazel Johnson and Rosella Packard; and two brothers, Eugene and Earl White; and one grandson Jamie Olson.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 15, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls, with Chaplain Pat Chittendon of Northwest Hospice officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Gardens Cemetery, town of Washington, Eau Claire.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral chapel.
