Dennis Joseph Kervin, Jr.




Dennis Joseph Kervin, Jr., died Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, in Chippewa Falls at age 86.

He was born May 7, 1922, in Springfield, Ill. to Dennis and Helen (Rodems) Kervin. Denny served with the U.S. Navy in WWII and Korea. He went on to a 45-year career with AT&T.

He married Beverly Bartels in 1946 and they spent most of their married life in New Lenox, Ill.

He is survived by: his four children, Paul (Elaine Sarao) Kervin of Washington D.C., Denise (Donald Kirihara) Kervin of Chippewa Falls, Doug (Jinia Hanlon) Kervin also of Chippewa Falls and Kelly (Kurt) Kallman of Mesa, Ariz; six grandchildren, Claire, Sarah and Meredith Kervin, Caitlin Kirihara, Alexander Kervin and Nicole Kallman; sister Dorothy (Jim) Coady of Springfield, Ill.; and numerous nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

Denny loved to follow his investments, hated anything to do with plumbing and had a joke and smile for everyone he saw. He valued family, loyalty and honor.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Final interment will be in Joliet, Ill.
