Several upcoming events are being planned at the Heyde Center for the Arts in Chippewa Falls in the coming weeks.
A production of “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” will be presented at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Oct. 23-25, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26.
Opening in New York in 1967 with an adult cast, this musical comedy went through forty thousand productions, involving two hundred and 40,000 different performers. The action takes place during an average day in the life of Charlie Brown, with short vignettes about all the characters.
Fun, laughter and sincerity build the mood of the play, as we learn how much the characters really like each other in spite of their bickering. Come join the Peanuts gang in this fast-paced lighthearted musical guaranteed to please audiences of all ages. Directed by Rick Olson.
Admission is $10 for adults, $9 for seniors and $6 for students or $30 for a family of four.
November artists of the month
Members of the Valley Art Association will be featured as the November artists of the month from Monday, Nov. 3 through Wednesday, Nov. 26. There is no charge for admission to the show. There will be a reception for the artists from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7.
Though many members of this will be the first time Valley Art Association members have exhibited their works together as a group.
The VAA has about 40 members that meet once a month at the Chippewa Valley Library for socialization and education. Painters, photographers, fabric artists and others come together to hear guest speakers on many topics of interest to artists.
Dance the Night Away
Ballroom dance enthusiasts can enjoy, relax and dance to the music of the Jerry Way Orchestra from 7 to 11 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7.
The area’s premier dance band plays all styles of dance music, and features Michael Walk on tenor saxophone, Bill Buchholtz on trumpet, Jerry Way on guitar and vocals, Rob Way on bass, and Ron Gard on drums.
Admission is $8 for adults or $7 for seniors.
Taste of the North
Sample the delights of local food and beverage producers in the auditorium of the Heyde Center for the Arts from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8. Socialize, browse the art galleries and listen to live music.
Vendors include: The Creamery, Gordy’s County Market, Castle Rock Organic Farms, Han’s Market Venison, Connell’s Apples, Viking Brewery, Lucy’s Delicatessen, Foreign Five, Chateau St. Croix Winery, General Beer Northwest, The Bullfrog Fish Farm, Premium Waters, Inc., and Foster’s Riverview Inn.
Admission is by $25 donation.
