Local prep soccer fans won’t have to travel too far this week as both Chippewa Falls and McDonell/Regis begin their playoff treks.
The Cardinals were given the No. 6 seed in their half of the sectional and will head to Eau Claire Memorial Thursday afternoon to play the Old Abes. The game is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
Chi-Hi dropped its first game to the Old Abes, 4-1, back in September and lost the second game, 6-0.
The Macks, who are seeking a return trip to the state tournament in Milwaukee, will begin their journey with a home game Thursday against Gresham.
McDonell/Regis is the top seed in its half of the section with Gresham the No. 8 seed. The game is at 4 p.m. at Casper Park. The teams did not face each other this season.
