Alfred J. Herman


Alfred J. Herman, 89, of Boyd died Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, at Wissota Health Center.

He was born on Dec. 13, 1918, in Havre, Mont., the son of the late Henry and Amelia (Shock) Herman. His family moved to the area when he was a young man.

On April 3, 1945, he married Agnes Kranig at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edson. The couple farmed in the area until Alfred’s retirement 20 years ago.

He is survived by: his wife of 63 years, Agnes; one daughter Rose (Gary) Licht of Cadott; four grandchildren, Daniel (Sharon) Licht of Holmen, Wendy Licht of Waterville, Ohio, Mandy (Shawn) Schoelzel of Chippewa Falls and Cory Licht of Holmen; three great-grandchildren, Chad and Julya Licht and Briar Schoelzel; and one sister Ann (Ed) Davies of Sacramento, Calif.

He is preceded in death by: his parents; four brothers, Adolph, Amil, Ryland and Albert; and two sisters, Ida Huff and Martha Mohr.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at the Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley.

Burial of cremains will take place at a later date at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Edson.
