Chilson Chrysler Dodge moves, expandsThe Chilson Family of Dealerships is expanding and relocating its Chippewa Falls facility. Chilson Chrysler Dodge will be moving across Highway 124 to 1983 Prairie View Road in the Village of Lake Hallie. This is formally the site of Chippewa Falls Ford.
The facility has been updated and will house new and pre-owned vehicle and truck sales for the Chilson Group. With this new facility expanded service, parts, and re-conditioning operations will begin with a plan timed expansion in workforce.
This is the second business expansion for the Chilson Group in 2008. The first was the acquisition of Chilson’s Corner Motors of Cadott in April.This move will coincide with the 50th Anniversary of Chilson Motors Group in 2009. The expected timing to complete the renovation and move is late November 2008.
Luther Midelfort names new vice presidentDeborah Fischer has been named vice president for quality and organizational improvement at Luther Midelfort. She will oversee all quality improvement efforts throughout the Luther Midelfort system, provide leadership with process improvement and support the strategic planning process.
Fischer earned her master’s degree in business administration from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn. She earned her bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis.
Before joining Luther Midelfort, Fischer was quality administrator for Mayo Health System and continuous improvement consultant at Mayo Clinic, both in Rochester. She has served in various positions in the pharmacies at Mayo Clinic’s Saint Marys and Rochester Methodist hospitals.
Fischer is a member of the Baldrige National Quality Program Board of Examiners and the Minnesota Quality Award Program Board of Evaluators.
Local cosmetologist wins international honorEau Claire hair stylist Bridgett Dohmen won the top spot in the Fantastic Sams 2008 Artistic Styling Awards at a ceremony in New Orleans on Sept. 23. Out of 776 entries from Fantastic Sams stylists throughout the country, Dohmen’s work was chosen as best overall, earning her the title “International Stylist of the Year” and a prize of $1,000. Dohmen also won first place in the Adult Male Cut and Style category.
Several other local stylists won awards for their work as well. Cyndi Nierenberger of Chippewa Falls won first place overall in the Artistic Glamour division. Rachael Shafer of Eau Claire won central division honors for her entry in the Avant-Garde category.
Jennifer Wood of Eau Claire won the central division in the Artistic Color category.
The Artistic Styling Awards are open to stylists from any of the nearly 1,400 Fantastic Sams salons throughout the United States and Canada. Participants perform hairstyles on models of their choosing and submit photographs of their work to a judging panel of beauty and fashion industry professionals.
