The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department responded to the following calls:

Friday, Oct. 3

9:04 a.m. Robert O. Garin, 27446 250th St., Holcombe, reported his mailbox had been smashed overnight.

6:09 p.m. A grass fire was reported next to Highway 53 northbound south of County S. Tilden Fire and the Chippewa Fire District responded.

8:41 p.m. A structure fire was reported at 8651 141st St. Eagle Point and Tilden Fire responded.

Police

The Chippewa Falls Police Department responded to the following calls:

Friday, Oct. 3

9:02 a.m. Steven D. Cook, 601 W. Columbia St., reported political signs supporting Sen. John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin were stolen from his yard on Sept. 12 and 27.

1:05 p.m. A 16-year-old male was arrested for truancy and possession of drug paraphernalia, and another 16-year-old male was cited for truancy at Carson Street and Miles Street.
