Donations improve pediatric emergency care

For the Herald

Members of the General Federation Woman’s Club-Wisconsin of Eagle Point recently presented the Chippewa Falls Fire and Emergency Department with two pediatric medic jump kits for ambulances.

The GFWC, through the Emergency Medical Services Project, is raising funds and accepting donations to provide the kits for ambulance services throughout Wisconsin. The kits assist emergency medical services in meeting the emergency needs of children and pediatric size persons.

Major components of the kit include proper sized-equipment needed for each size child, airway equipment, color-coded identifying system and bandage kits.

The GFWC received contributions from Royal Credit Union, Northwestern Bank, Valley Credit Union, Sam’s Club, State Farm Insurance Companies, Chippewa Falls Local 1816 Firefighters, Chippewa County Professional Police Association, Darlene Waggoner and Kay Gerrits.
