Chippewa Falls soccer team lost its home and Big Rivers Conference opener, watching a 2-0 lead turn into a 4-3 defeat at the hands of River Falls.
Teagan Warrick scored the game’s opening goal on an assist from Nate Simmons and that was followed by Charlie Zubal’s penalty kick for a goal a little more than 20 minutes later.
“I thought the guys plays fairly well tonight in spurts. They played well for the first 25 to 30 minutes,” Chi-Hi coach Ben Goeman said. “I think the challenge for them is to learn from their mistakes.”
The Cardinals scored one second half goal, coming from Andrew Kilness.
Chi-Hi (2-1, 0-1 BRC) will need to regroup quickly as the Cardinals travel Thursday to Rice Lake for another BRC contest.
