Jim Falls Sturgeon Festival continues through Labor Day

The traditional end of area festivals in the summer, the Sturgeon Festival, returns to Anson Park in Jim Falls Friday through Monday.
The 48th annual festival is sponsored by the Jim Falls Lions, and proceeds support Lions projects, including the Wisconsin Lions camp.
This year’s festival features demolition derbies on Sunday and Monday.
A fishing contest will be held through 1 p.m. Monday. Contest rules are posted at the park.
The celebration’s parade is set for noon Sunday, and a carnival along with arts and crafts will be in the park during the celebration.
Here’s some highlights. Most events are free.
Sunday
Noon. Sturgeon Festival parade.
2-6 p.m. Music by “Cinor.”
2 p.m. Bingo in the Lions Building.
3:30 p.m. Demolition Derby, featuring compact trucks and SUVs.
7-11 p.m. Music by “Area Code.”
Monday
1 p.m. Demolition Derby for compact and mid-sized cars.
1 p.m. The fishing contest ends.
1-5 p.m. Music by “Ole and Tex.”
2 p.m. Bingo, Lions Building.
5 p.m. A raffle drawing.
