Kenneth Alfred Hub




LaGRANGE, Ill. — Kenneth Alfred Hub, 84, formerly of Chippewa Falls, passed way peacefully at home in LaGrange, Ill. on Friday, Aug. 15, 2008, after a long battle with colon cancer.

He was born in Chippewa Falls on Aug. 14, 1924, the son of Alfred and Margaret MacPhail Hub. After serving in the Navy in the South Pacific during World War II, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, and then attended Kansas State University and The Oak Ridge School of Reactor Technology.

He spent his career in the field of Energy and Environmental Systems, eventually retiring from Argonne National Laboratory.

He was the dearly loved husband of Sue; loving father of Patrick (Alice), Alan (Christopher), David (Sarah), Andrew (Eleni); fond grandfather of Taylor, Cameron, Julia and Matthew; dear brother of Jean (Jim) McClellan, Nancy (Bob) Pevan and Ruth Hub; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.

In accordance with his wishes, his body has been donated to the Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois.

A memorial service will be held in Chippewa Falls at a later date.
