Memory Walk teams being formed

For the Herald

Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Wisconsin is holding a Memory Walk in Chippewa Falls on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at Irvine Park. Registration is at 4:30 p.m. and the walk starts at 5:30 p.m.

Held annually in the fall in hundreds of communities across the country, this inspiring event calls volunteers of all ages to become champions in the fight against Alzheimer’s. The event raises public awareness and funds for the fight against Alzheimer’s, assisting the Alzheimer’s Association in the provision of support and services for local families, caregivers and persons affected by Alzheimer’s disease.

To register online, visit www.alz.org/gwwi and click on, “Memory Walk 2008,” “Register Here” and then select the “Start a Team” option.

For additional information, questions or problems registering, call (800) 272-3900.

The Alzheimer’s Association is the world leader in Alzheimer’s research and support. It is the first and largest voluntary health organization dedicated to finding prevention methods, treatments and an eventual cure for Alzheimer’s disease. For over 25 years, the Alzheimer’s Association has provided reliable information and care consultation, created support services for families, increased funding for research and influenced public policy changes.
