Four Shillings Short to perform July 9

The duo Four Shillings Short will give a concert at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9 at the Heyde Center for the Arts in Chippewa Falls.
With a decade of touring in the U.S. and Ireland under their belts, the husband and wife duo of Aodh O’Tuama from Cork, Ireland and Californian Christy Martin live as full-time minstrels in their trusty Dodge Caravan loaded with 30 instruments.
In a single night, Four Shillings Short perform traditional Irish and Scottish songs, Indian ragas, folk ballads, old-time songs, a cappella numbers, Medieval and Renaissance instrumentals and original compositions.
Admission is $5 per person, with children under 18 free.
July Artist of the Month
The July Artists of the Month at the Heyde Center for the Arts are from the Eau Claire Art League.
The Eau Claire Art League was founded in 1944 with the purpose of fostering and promoting original art in Eau Claire. The league has met monthly for six decades, and today has expanded to include many artists from surrounding communities. Artists of all levels of achievement are welcome to join. Works in this exhibit will include watercolors, oil, acrylics, drawings, paper graphics and photography. There will be a reception for the artists from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9.
The exhibit is open Monday, July 7 through Monday, July 21. Admission is free.
