Library's summer fun series will feature crafts, bugs, movie showings

The Friends of the Chippewa Falls Public Library are hosting summer events geared toward kids. Several events will be held at the Chippewa Falls Public Library, 105 W. Central St., Chippewa Falls. Others will be held at City Hall.
1:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 17, City Hall basement: Bruce the Bug Guy, an entomologist from Minnesota, will show live bugs and animals. Don’t miss the opportunity to meet Rosie the Tarantula!
2-3:30 p.m., Thursday, June 19, library: Butterfly crafts for children 4 to 10. Children will have a choice of crafts to complete. Call 723-1146 to register children.
1:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 24, library: Free movie “Spiderwick Chronicles.” Rated PG. Children under age 12 must have a signed permission slip from their parents. Free popcorn.
1:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 25, library: Beekeeping talk with John Spate. Learn what it is like to raise bees and harvest honey. Open to all ages.
10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 26, library: Get your face painted by Ozseeker the Clown.
1:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 1, library: Free movie showing of Disney’s “It’s a Bug’s Life,” rated G. Animated movie about an ant.
2-3:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 8, library: Buggy crafts for children 7-11 at the library in the large meeting room. Children will have a choice of crafts to complete. Call 723-1146 to register children.
2 p.m., Wednesday, July 9, city hall basement: Want to learn more about turtles from a naturalist’s perspective? Attend the Chippewa Library’s Turtle Talk with live turtles from the Beaver Creek Park Reserve.
2 p.m., Tuesday, July 15, library: Free showing of “Bee Movie,” rated PG. Children under age 12 must have a signed permission slip from their parents. Free popcorn.
