Clean sweep disposal planned Saturday




For the Herald - Every year the Chippewa County Recycling Program provides residents with special collection programs. The 2008 dates have been scheduled for the appliance and electronics collections.

There will be three disposal sites from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 19 at the Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds in Chippewa Falls, the City of Cornell Municipal Shop, and the City of Stanley Public Works Department.

Upcoming disposal sites are 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 26 at the New Auburn Village Hall, and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 4 at the Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds.

Cost to dispose of a refrigerator , washer, dryer, freezer, dehumidifier, dishwasher, furnace, microwave, humidifier, water softner, water heater or stove is $9 per item.

Disposal of CPUs, keyboard, boards and residential printers is free.

Other items accepted include air conditioners ($10), gas ammonia refrigerators ($50), laptops ($9), monitors ($7), TVs ($10), VCRs ($3), commercial printers and copy machines ($15-$25).
