Mother Nature continues to hold off spring sports teams




Cold, rain and the potential for snow has brought more cancellations for the local prep sports scene.

Chi-Hi's slate of contests for Thursday, Friday and Saturday were impacted significantly. All of Thursday's events - a Big Rivers golf invite in Menomonie and tennis at Eau Claire North - were cancelled and rescheduled for April 15.

Friday's Chi-Hi soccer game was moved to Dorais Field for a 5 p.m. start. Saturday's baseball games with La Crosse Logan were postponed and the soccer game was moved to Dorais Field for 4 p.m. The tennis match at D.C. Everest remains unchanged.

McDonell's baseball and softball games on Friday with Cadott were cancelled. Cadott also cancelled its triangular track meet Friday. Cadott also cancelled today's softball and baseball games.

In Bloomer, today's four-team track meet with Bruce, Cornell and Durand was rescheduled for April 15.

New Auburn's home softball and baseball games against Winter were cancelled as were the baseball and softball games between Lake Holcombe and Cornell at Cornell.
