Youth Symphony to give concert at Chi-Hi Sunday

For the Herald - The Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony will perform its third concert of the 2007-08 season, “A Sampling of Music Classics II,” at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, in the Chippewa Falls Senior High School auditorium.

Under the direction of Eugene Power, the concert will feature Modest Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition” and Gustav Holst’s “Jupiter and Mars” from “The Planets Suite.”

The concert is free and open to the public.

The Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony mission is to provide a unique opportunity for area youth to develop and showcase their artistry in the symphonic tradition while enhancing their lives and the cultural environment of the communities in which they live. The auditioned group is made up of more than 60 Chippewa Valley musicians in grades 7-12.

For more information about the youth symphony, go to www.cvyouthsymphony.org or call (715) 955-4085. The Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony is made possible through a partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension.
