Bowling: Roberts reaches 300 mark

The area’s seventh 300 game was bowled last week by Dennis Roberts as many scores were high for both men and women.
Roberts bowled his 300-game during the Thursday Animal League at Falls Bowl, according to the report from the league for Feb. 21. Results for the weekly leaders were for Feb. 15-21 and were reported to The Chippewa Herald.
Roberts was nearly joined by league-mate Josh Peterson. Peterson came 12 pins short of the perfect game. Peterson also had a top-three series for the week as he bowled a 733, also during the Animal League.
Peterson’s series was one of eight series that were 700 or better.
Joe Knapp bowled a 298 game and a 757 series during the Thursday Night Men’s league at Ojibwa Golf & Bowl. Both his game and series will place him in the season standings as well.
Jeff Goettl had the second place series with a score of 748 during the Wednesday Men’s Major league at Falls Bowl. His score also is amongst the best 10 for the season.
Among the other bowlers with a 700 series were: Mike Sedlacek (711) in Thursday Night Men’s at Ojibwa; Pat Davis (704) in the Wednesday Retailers at Falls Bowl; Al Gwiazdon (711) in Wednesday Men’s Majors at Falls Bowl; Matt Klund (704) in the Tuesday Merchant league at Falls Bowl; Tom Seelow (726) in the Monday Night Mens league at Ojibwa Golf & Bowl
Amy Kilmer had the best game for the week, a 247 bowled during the Saturday Night Express league at Falls Bowl. She also had the second place series with a 641.
Donna Rockwell came in third for the best game with a 226, also during the Saturday Night Express. Rockwell also bowled a 221 game in the Thursday Ladies 400 league, also at Falls Bowl.
Linda Thompson had the best series with a 672, still 14 pins short of her season high. Thompson also bowled a second place game with a 234 during the Wednesday Night Hustlers at Ojibwa Golf & Bowl.
Barb Liedl had the third place series with a score of 615. She bowled the score during the Tuesday Women’s Classic League at Falls Bowl.
