For the Herald - Chalice of Mercy, a non-profit organization, invites local children to share their hearts with orphaned children from Zaporozhe, Ukraine. Children age 4-16 can participate in the Kids’ Fun Art Party and Exhibition from 2 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Chippewa Valley Family YMCA in Chippewa Falls.
It is organized with the intention of creating a fun-filled environment for children to draw, paint and socialize with other children.
The children are welcomed to draw pictures with the theme, “What’s inside of my heart.”
There will be refreshments, organized children’s games and entertainment during the party, along with prizes.
All of the artwork of participating local children, along with the artworks of the Ukrainian children, will be exhibited at a later date. Parents will be notified of the exhibition, once the date and location is finalized. The artwork of the children can be taken home for a donation at the exhibition.
Children from Ukraine have already participated in this “art exchange” and have created works of art with tremendous passion and excitement, knowing that their works will travel to the United States and will be seen by people there.
All proceeds will go towards building a Medical Diagnostic Center for the orphans and homeless in Ukraine who are in the need of help. Donations are appreciated.
