Clifford J. Zwiefelhofer




EAU CLAIRE — Clifford J. Zwiefelhofer, 75, of 11538 County Highway B, Chippewa Falls, town of Tilden, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008, at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire.

He was born June 29, 1932, in the town of Cooks Valley, the son of John B. and Alvina (Pecha) Zwiefelhofer.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Clifford married Cecilia Boos on May 10, 1955, at St. Peter’s Church, Tilden.

He had worked for Bohl & Proulx for several years until he retired.

Clifford was a member of St. Peter’s Church and Bloomer VFW Post #6175.

He enjoyed playing cards with his friends and working at Wissota Golf where he mowed the greens.

He is survived by: his wife, Ceil of Chippewa Falls; two sons, Michael (Rosanne) of Bloomer and Donald of Edgerton; four daughters, Pamela (Don) Naset, Pauline (David) Stertz and Julie (Ed) Piel all of Bloomer and Frances (Charles) Schindler of Colfax; four brothers, David (Maxine) of Chippewa Falls, Lawrence (Eileen) of Columbus, Mont., Richard (Marge) of Bloomer and Tom (Audrey) of Caledonia, Ill.; six sisters, Cecelia (Ronnie) Michaels, Dorothy (Gordon) Baier, Janet (Alfred) Sikora, Karen Zwiefelhofer and Pat (Donald) Baker all of Bloomer and Bonnie (Lyle) Miller of Eau Claire; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; three sisters, twins in infancy and Juanita E. “Nita” Grill; and one brother, Eugene R. Zwiefelhofer.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19 at St. Peter’s Church, town of Tilden. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Tilden. Military rites will be conducted by the Bloomer VFW Post #6175.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18 and until 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Horan Funeral Home, Chippewa Falls. There will be a Christian Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
