Terrence E. “Shocky” Shock, 53, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007 in his home north of Jim Falls.
Terry was born Aug. 16, 1954, in Chippewa County to Perry and Jean (Adams) Shock. At the age of 11 while living in Chippewa Falls, Terry was introduced to the Conrad Johnstad family were he was lovingly raised as one of their own.
Terry made countless friends as he traveled throughout his adult life, and would always seem to captivate a group of people with his wonderful sense of humor, and outspoken views on almost any subject imaginable.
Although usually based in northern Wisconsin for most of his life, he has also lived in California, Texas, Arizona, North Carolina, and Alaska, where he enjoyed hunting and fishing whenever possible.
Terry loved to travel, and seldom missed an opportunity to go hiking in the great outdoors.
While working at many different jobs over the years, from installing glass, to building silos, it was his knowledge of general construction that would come in handy as he exchanged trades with friends and family. There was nothing he couldn’t do once he set his mind to the task.
Terry’s passions were as diverse as his talents! He loved to live life like there was no tomorrow, and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his family and friends.
As a Green Bay Packer fan he was never far from a TV and a beer on game day. During the off-season he enjoyed riding his motorcycle which he often towed behind his van on his many trips out west to visit and work with his closest of friends, Toby and Cheryl, and his older brother in L.A., Steve, known to many as Zeus.
On one of these many visits his brother introduced Terry to Tonight Show’s host Jay Leno who later told Zeus, “That Shocky’s a pretty funny guy,” to which Zeus said “Jay — you have nooo idea!”
On yet another visit to L.A., Shocky and Zeus went out to lunch with another close celebrity friend Felix Silla, a.k.a “Cousin It ” of the original TV Show ( The Addams Family ). This is just a very small insight to this wonderful man who always lived in the moment.
He was a dutiful son, a loving brother and loyal friend to everyone who knew him. Unforgettable to many, admired by most, and loved by all, there will never be another Shocky!
Survivors include but not limited to; The entire Shock, Johnstad and Adams family, with whom he will lovingly be remembered!
A Memorial Celebration of “Shocky’s Life” will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007 at the VFW Club Post 305, 1300 Starr Ave. in Eau Claire. The family will receive friends starting at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
