Who Makes Your Day?

Local artists will display in 'Journeys'

For the Herald - The artwork of 11 female artists will be featured at Journeys, Nov. 1 through Nov. 23 at the Eau Claire Regional Arts Center Gallery in Eau Claire.

Journeys reveals the experiences of each of the artist as they interpret life’s many passages and phases through a myriad of media — acrylic on canvas, to printmaking and sculpture. Each artist brings a different experience, age, occupation, lifestyle, and art background to the show as an individual reflection to the word “journey,” including aging, triumph over cancer and the spiritual.

Artists included in the exhibit are Lucianne Boardman of Chippewa Falls, Carissa Brudos of Desoto, Patricia Gund of La Crescent, Minn., Samantha Gund of Eau Claire, Lynn Hobart of La Crosse, Geri Krause of Eau Claire, Lois Peterson of Saint Peter, Minn., Kim Peterson of Chippewa Falls, Jeannie Roberts of Chippewa Falls, Sandra Starck of Eau Claire and Tria Wedge of Eau Claire.

A meet the artists reception will be held from 2 to 3:30 on Saturday, Nov. 10 in the art gallery. Refreshments will be served. Admission is free to the reception, as well as the month-long exhibit.

The Art Gallery at the Eau Claire Regional Arts Center, 316 Eau Claire St., is open weekdays, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and during main stage productions. For more information on the Art Gallery at the Eau Claire Regional Arts Center, call (715) 832-ARTS.
