Special to the Herald

The search for a new president of Chippewa Valley Technical College has been narrowed to two candidates.

Bruce Barker is CVTC’s current vice president of operations. Tim Wynes is the current chancellor of the Iowa Valley Community College district. The district operates community colleges in Grinnell, Iowa Falls and Marshalltown, Iowa.

The candidates will take part in separate one-hour public forums in Eau Claire Sept. 10 at 620 West Clairemont. Barker is scheduled from 4 to 5 p.m. Wynes is scheduled from 7 to 8 a.m. Everyone attending a forum will be given a feedback form which when completed will be given directly to the CVTC Board.

Barker has been a CVTC vice president since 2000. Prior to CVTC, he was vice president of human resources at Luther Midelfort Mayo. He holds a J.D. degree from Marquette University and once served as assistant city attorney for the City of Eau Claire.

Wynes is also an attorney served as the executive dean of governmental affairs, grants and college research at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa.
