Lloyd M. Weigand


Lloyd M. Weigand, 83, of 173 Amstar Drive, Chippewa Falls, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Chippewa Falls.

He was born June 23, 1924, in Chippewa Falls, the son of Arthur J. and Ann (McGilvray) Weigand.

Lloyd graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1942.

He was in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946 with the 11th Airborne Division in the Pacific Theatre of Operations during World War II. After the war he went to art school in California. He worked as an architect, interior decorator and commercial artist in Sao Paulo, Brazil and New York City until his retirement in 1985. In 1986, Lloyd moved back to Chippewa Falls.

He enjoyed traveling and casinos and was a world traveler.

He is survived by: one brother, John Weigand of Weyerhaeuser; two nephews, Rev. Stephen Weigand of Washington, D.C. and Michael Weigand of Chippewa Falls; and one niece, Kathy Weigand of St. Louis Park, Minn.

He was preceded in death by: his parents.

Graveside services in Hope Cemetery, Chippewa Falls, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday.
