A 42-year-old man has been arrested in the stabbing of two people at the Hoffman Trailer Court in the town of LaFayette early Saturday morning.
Carl J. Bruhn of the trailer court at 19941 County X, Chippewa Falls, was arrested for aggravated assault and dangerous use of a weapon and is being held in the Chippewa County Jail.
The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department identifies the injured as: Michael S. Walters, 47, and Kenny D. Walters, 40, both residents of the trailer court.
Deputies found Michael and Kenny Walters bleeding heavily near a vehicle after responding at 12:04 a.m. They said that they had been just stabbed by another male they knew in the trailer court.
The men were stabbed at the court’s Lot 27, the residence of Bruhn.
Deputies sealed off the court while the injured men were treated at the scene and then taken by Chippewa Fire District paramedics to Luther Hospital in Eau Claire. The sheriff’s department did not list their medical condition.
The court was searched and Bruhn was found at a trailer at the opposite end. He was taken into custody without incident.
Helping the sheriff’s department were officers from the Chippewa Falls Police Department, Cadott Police Department and sheriff’s deputies working at the nearby Rock Fest in Cadott.
The sheriff’s department said deputies stayed at the scene for hours to identify possible witnesses.
