St. Joseph’s Hospital wins top EDC honor

St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls won the Business of the Year honor at the Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation annual meeting at Kamp Kenwood on Thursday.
The hospital was selected from four nominees, which were Business of the Year nominees in four geographic quadrants of the county. Other winners included Ace Ethanol from the Cadott/Boyd/Stanley quadrant, Custom Machine Products from the Cornell/Lake Holcombe quadrant, and PMI from the Bloomer/New Auburn quadrant.
Ray Meyers accepted the award for St. Joseph’s Hospital as the Chippewa Falls quadrant winner. Executive Vice President Dave Fish accepted the overall award on behalf of the hospital.
The guest speaker for the event was former President Teddy Roosevelt in the person of Keith McGough, who performs a one-man show giving motivational messages as the venerable political figure whose face is on Mount Rushmore. Roosevelt stayed for the end of the meeting and helped hand out the awards and pose for pictures.
Major sponsors for the annual meeting were Chippewa Valley Newspapers, Citizens State Bank, Rex Systems Inc., and Xcel Energy.
Bob Bosold, farm reporter for WAXX/WAYY radio was the master of ceremonies.
