Towns set caucuses




Here’s a listing of some of the April election races in towns in Chippewa County:

Anson - Chairman: Gary Lazarz (i). Supervisor (2 positions): Scott Schemenauer (i), Dave Woodford (i), Dan Wundrow; Clerk: Kathy Boiteau (i); Treasurer: Angeline Nosal (i), Barbara Woodford.

Arthur - Caucus will be Monday, Jan. 8.

Auburn - Caucus will be Tuesday, Jan. 9.

Birch Creek - Caucus will be Tuesday, Jan. 9.

Bloomer - Caucus will be Monday, Jan. 8, 6 p.m.

Cleveland - Caucus, Monday, Jan. 8, 7 p.m.

Colburn - The caucus was held Tuesday.

Cooks Valley - Chairman: Ronald Fanetti (i); Supervisor (2 positions): David Clements (i), Gary R. Yakesh (i), Clarence Shakal; Clerk: Victoria Trinko (i), Treasurer: Eunice Steinmetz (i).

Delmar - Caucus will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 20.

Eagle Point - Chairman, Michael Sedlacek (i), Jeffry Bowe; Supervisor, District 1, Bonnie Ferstenou, David Redard, District 2, Steven Meinen, Eldred Nyhus; Clerk, Karen Knorn (i), Jeanne Dachel.

Edson - Caucus, 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 13.

Estella - Caucus will be 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 9.

Goetz - Caucus will be 7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 8.

Hallie - Chairman: Larry Marquardt (i); Supervisors (2 positions): Ronald Steinmetz (i). George Szotkowski (i) did not file nomination papers for re-election and no one else filed papers for the position.

Howard - Caucus will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 20.

LaFayette - Chairman, Dave Staber; Supervisors (two positions), David Hunt (i), Bruno Rahn, Jr. (i); Clerk, Sandra M.Harvey (i).

Lake Holcombe - Caucus will be at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 11.

Ruby - Caucus will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 13.

Sampson - Caucus will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 13.

Tilden - Caucus will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 13.

Wheaton - Chairman, Paul Kremenauer; Supervisor (four elected), Wayne Beckwith (i), Dale Hawkins (i), Robert Sworski, Elmer Eckwright, Jr., Alan Solberg and Ralph Coushman. Clerk: Mark A. Christenson (i).

Woodmohr - Chairman: Jerry Johnson (i), Peter Hanson; Supervisor: Charlie Bowe (i), Paul Michels, Byron Boettcher, Louis Revoir; Clerk: Ann Jenneman (i); Treasurer: Jodine Steinmetz (i); Constable: Gary Score.

Information was not available by press time for the town of Sigel.

(i) denotes incumbent.

Most towns are holding caucuses, instead of using the nomination paper system. Those towns include: Arthur, Auburn, Birch Creek, Bloomer, Cleveland, Colburn, Delmar, Edson, Estella, Goetz, Howard, Lake Holcombe, Ruby, Sampson, Sigel and Tilden.

Towns using nomination papers include: Anson, Cooks Valley, Eagle Point, Hallie, LaFayette, Wheaton and Woodmohr.
