Donations sought for Greenhalgh endowment

Doug Greenhalgh's former music students and Chippewa Falls alumni are setting up an endowment fund to ensure the musical legacy left by Greenhalgh and his wife, Therese.

Earnings generated by the fund, informally called the “G” Fund in recognition of Doug Greenhalgh's nickname, will go to the band program. The fund, which has the blessing of the Greenhalgh family, will be managed by the Community Foundation of Chippewa County.

If you wish to donate, write a check made out to “Community Foundation of Chippewa County,” and specify “Greenhalgh Music Endowment” on the check memo. Then send the check to:

The Community Foundation of Chippewa County

P.O. Box 153

Chippewa Falls, WI 54729.

For more information on the fund, call 723-8125. For more information on joining alumni in their efforts to collect funds, call 723-7740.

Marching band alumni are also coordinating efforts with the Chippewa Falls school district to establish a scholarship fund for music students through the “Chippewa Falls Area United School District Foundation.”

Funds donated to the school district's foundation will create scholarships for students inspired to pursue further education in music. For information on contributing to the scholarship fund, call Evalyn Frasch at 723-2530.
