M&I Bank collecting food for Salvation Army
Employees at the Chippewa Falls office of M&I Marshall & Ilsley Bank (M&I Bank) will be collecting food for the Salvation Army as part of M&I Community Day, a nationwide mobilization of M&I employees to benefit the communities in which they work.
The collection of non-perishable food items will run through Tuesday at the M&I Bank at 411 N. Bridge Street, Chippewa Falls. Bank customers and employees as well as the general public are invited to make donations in the bank lobby during regular banking hours.
According to Amanda Pickl, caseworker, Salvation Army, The Chippewa Falls Area Salvation Army provides food to 400 families a month - approximately 1,200 individuals.
"The local Salvation Army office only receives food donations from two area food drives - the Postal Food Drive in May and the School Food Drive in November," said Pickl. "The food from the May drive, supplies us with food until mid-July. From August until November we are basically out of food. We do receive donations from area churches, but it during this time that we really rely on the community for donations."
